  • Recruitment Management: Processing Personal Data of candidates who apply through the forms in the “Careers” section.
  • Management of Prospects and Clients: Processing Personal Data of Users who contact us via “New Business”, “Press Inquiries,” and “Everything Else” forms in the “Contact” section.
  • Marketing: Processing Personal Data to manage your subscription to newsletters.

Empirika Media Group, Inc. retains Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with legal obligations under Canadian law. The retention period may vary depending on the type of Personal Data and the purposes of processing. Typically:

  • Your Personal Data is kept for the duration of our contractual and/or pre-contractual relationship. After that, it may be archived for the duration required under Canadian law or relevant statutes of limitations.
  • In the context of recruitment, your Personal Data will be retained for two (2) years after our last contact if your application is not successful, unless you request earlier deletion. If your application is successful, your data will be retained for the duration of your employment.
  • Some data (like invoices, estimates, credit notes) may be kept for up to ten (10) years for compliance and audit purposes, as required.
  • Data collected through cookies is kept for thirteen (13) months from collection unless otherwise required.
  • Marketing Personal Data (newsletter subscriptions) is kept for up to three (3) years from the date of collection or your last contact unless you unsubscribe.

Empirika Media Group, Inc. uses the following subprocessors for data processing purposes:

  • Webflow: Provides website hosting, and content management services.
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Offers cloud hosting, storage, and computing services.
  • Google Analytics: Collects and analyzes website traffic data to improve user experience and functionality.
  • Stripe: Handles payment processing, billing, and invoicing.
  • Meta: Supports our advertising efforts through Facebook and its related platforms.
  • Google Ads: Manages online advertising campaigns and analytics.

Each of these subprocessors is contractually obligated to implement appropriate data protection measures and comply with applicable privacy laws, including PIPEDA. We ensure that they process Personal Data only in accordance with our instructions and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. This list is subject to updates as our service providers change.

9. Security Breach Notification

In the event of fraudulent intrusion into our systems, theft, destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, unauthorized access, or any other malicious act, Empirika Media Group, Inc. will:

  • Notify affected users of (i) the nature of the intrusion, (ii) the probable consequences, and (iii) the measures proposed to remedy the incident, where there is a high risk to your rights and freedoms.
  • Notify the appropriate supervisory authority within the timeframe required by Canadian law, if applicable.
